Vaginal rings are flexible, torus-shaped devices for continuous administration of pharmaceutical drugs to the human vagina for therapeutic benefit. Here at Queen's University Belfast, we are the forefront of developing vaginal rings for administration of antiretroviral drugs to protect women against HIV infection during sex with an infected male partner.
