UIP FAQs

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance has provided funding to JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. to provide technical assistance to India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to strengthen and build on the current technical support system in routine immunization. Under the award of this exhibit, JSI has prepared a standard package of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) customized each for Medical Officers (MOs), health workers, parents/caregivers and other stakeholders, addressing to the vaccines available under Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), including their doses and schedule, incentives involved, cold chain requirements, recording and reporting mechanisms, meaning and importance of getting a child fully and completely immunized, etc.

The widespread adoption and use of mobile technologies have the potential to provide new and innovative ways to improve health care delivery and the health of individuals. Mobile Apps for people are being developed to support healthier living, help manage a long-term condition and to provide initial advice on an emerging problem. To enable a wider dissemination of these FAQs, a mobile-based application with a comprehensive list of FAQs along with graphics that works on smart phones is developed.
