Universal TV Remote Control

Lost your TV remote? Universal TV Remote turns your Android phone into a Wi-Fi TV remote for Samsung, LG, Google TV, Android TV, and Roku.

Keep your phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi. The app finds your smart TV, you pair once, and your phone becomes the remote: volume, channels, apps, typing, and more.

Works with popular smart TVs

• Samsung Smart TV (Tizen, 2016 and newer)

• LG TV with webOS, plus older LG NetCast models

• Google TV and Android TV, including Chromecast with Google TV

• Roku players and Roku TVs, including many TCL, Hisense, Sharp, and Insignia sets

If your Sony, Philips, TCL, or Hisense TV runs Google TV, Android TV, or Roku, this TV remote app can control it too. Amazon Fire TV is not supported.

Full TV remote control from your phone

• D-pad with OK for classic remote navigation

• Touchpad to swipe through menus and tap to select

• Number pad for channel entry

• Volume, mute, channel up/down, power, Home, Back, Menu, Input, and Info

• Media keys for play, pause, and playback

• One-tap app shortcuts for YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Spotify, and Plex

• Live keyboard so you can type into search boxes and login fields on the TV

• Voice search on Google TV and Android TV using your phone microphone

• Only the buttons your connected TV supports are shown

• Optional haptic and click feedback so it feels like a real remote

• Full TalkBack support with labelled buttons

How to connect

1. Connect your phone and TV to the same Wi-Fi network. Guest Wi-Fi and VPNs often block discovery.

2. Open Universal TV Remote and tap Find my TV.

3. Pick your TV. Enter the pairing code on Android TV or Google TV, or tap Allow on a Samsung TV. LG uses an on-TV prompt or PIN.

4. Pair once. The app remembers your last TV and reconnects next time.

No infrared blaster. No extra hardware. This is a Wi-Fi TV remote, so it works on phones that cannot send IR signals.

Why people use this smart TV remote

• Replace a lost or broken TV remote

• Control the TV from the couch without hunting for batteries

• Type passwords and search terms faster than the on-screen keyboard

• Launch Netflix, YouTube, and other apps without clicking through the TV home screen

• Keep one remote app for Samsung, LG, Google TV, and Roku in the same house

Tips for a reliable connection

Turn the TV on, stay on the same Wi-Fi band when possible, and enable the TV’s mobile / network remote setting if your model has one. Isolated guest networks usually cannot see the TV.

Universal TV Remote is built for everyday TV control, not screen mirroring or casting.

This app is not affiliated with Samsung, LG, Google, Roku, Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, Plex, or the other brands named here. Compatibility depends on your TV model, software, and network.
