Vasai Village Green Run

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Ward No. 108 of Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) is organising a run for spreading awareness about keeping the ponds clean. Ward No. 108 is spread over an approximate area of 4 Sq. Kms. and having a population of around 11,800 residents.

In ward No. 108 of VVCMC there are around 134 existing ponds, most of which are filled with sewage water, garbage and other non-degradable articles. The Vasai Village Green Run thus comes with a theme “Clean Ponds…..Save Nature…..Stay Healthy”.

Vasai Village Green Run is open for Participants in Palghar District, Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Thane district, raigad district. However, athletes from Mumbai, Palghar District and other parts of Maharashtra can also participate in the non-competetive Category.

We had organised Vasai Village Green Run 2016 for the first time last year wherein we had received an overwhelming response with more than 600 participants in various groups. Ex-MLA of Vasai Mr. Dominic Gonsalves, Chairman of Prabhag ‘I’ Mr. Pravin Shetty, Corporators of various wards of VVCMC were present for the event.

Vasai Village Green Run 2016 was also recognised by Palghar District Athletic Association and this year also we are going to organise the Run in association with them.
