Vulnerability mapping is the process of identifying and analyzing the factors that increase the risk of TB transmission and worsen its impact in a given community or population. This information is used to prioritize resources, plan and implement interventions, and monitor progress in reducing TB transmission and its impact. Factors considered in vulnerability mapping may include demographics, socioeconomic status, health systems and services, environmental factors, and health behaviors. The goal is to create a comprehensive understanding of the TB epidemic and design targeted, evidence-based strategies for TB prevention and control.
