VI-appen (development)

The VI app is an everyday tool for all couples and parents. Here you get help to strengthen the relationship and to grow as a parent. The VI app has been developed by some of Norway's foremost professionals in cohabitation and parenting, e.g. Catrin Sagen and Frode Thuen.

In the VI app, you get professional advice, reminders and help to talk about important topics - built on research-based knowledge. You can choose to work with the couple guide, the parent guide or both.

The VI app is for everyone, both couples and parents who are struggling and those who do not find it so complicated. We believe that couples and parents who spend a few minutes occasionally focusing on the relationship or parenting role can achieve a lot.

The first version of the VI app has already reached over 50,000 users. The Directorate for Children, Youth and Families has supported the development.

MORE ABOUT THE APP:

- Choose whether you want to work with the couple guide, the parent guide or both. The app is made up of eight levels, designed to support you over time.

- Connect with your partner if you want - then you can use the VI app as a couple.

- Watch short films with some of Norway's foremost professionals, made to give you effective and good advice along the way.

- The professionals have made some good questions related to each film, to help you reflect on various important topics.

- If you are connected to your partner, you squeeze the phones together to see what the other has answered - the good conversation can start :)

WHO IS BEHIND THE VI APP?

The VI app has been developed by some of Norway's foremost professionals in cohabitation and parenting, e.g. Frode Thuen (psychologist, professor and regular columnist in A-magazine), Catrin Sagen (psychologist, course instructor and author), Irene Elgen (pediatrician and professor) and Øystein Elgen (doctor and specialist in psychiatry). Rachel and Kristian, who had three boys under the age of two, have taken the initiative for the VI app - because they themselves needed a simple everyday tool to support themselves both in the relationship and in meeting the children.
