Watermelons or pottery (Citrullus lanatus, cucumber or Cucurbitaceae) are vines that originate in the semi-desert regions of southern Africa. This plant is still related to pumpkins (Cucurbitaceae), melons (Cucumis melo) and cucumbers (Cucumis sativus). Watermelons are usually harvested for fresh fruit or made juice. Watermelon seeds that are dried and roasted can also be eaten (cotyledons) as watermelon seeds.

Like other members of the tribe of cucumbers, the habitus of this plant propagates but it cannot form adventitious roots and cannot climb. The range of propagation can reach dozens of meters.

The leaves are curved at the edges. The flowers are perfect, yellow, small (3cm diameter). Watermelon is andromonoecious monoclin, which has two types of flowers in one plant: male flowers, which only have stamens (stamen), and pansy flowers / hermaphrodites, which have stamens and pistils (pistillum). Pansy flowers can be recognized from the presence of ovaries at the base of the flower in the form of an oval shaped enlargement.

Watermelon fruit has a hard skin, dark green or light green with dark green lines. Depending on the cultivar, the juicy flesh of the flesh is red or yellow.

The date palm tree is believed to have originated from around the Persian Gulf and has been cultivated since ancient times from Mesopotamia to prehistoric Egypt, possibly as early as 4000 BC. The Ancient Egyptians used the fruit to be made into date palm wine and ate it at harvest. There is archaeological evidence on the cultivation of dates in the eastern part of Arabia in 6000 BC.
