This clinical decision support system is designed to step a healthcare provider through the decision-making process for managing and dosing warfarin. It includes a pharmacogenetics-based algorithm as well as gene-dose tables for easily identifying the optimal dose. Using genetic characteristics to dose warfarin has been shown in large clinical studies to reduce serious adverse events and save lives. The app has 110 different displays and is based on clinical guidelines, the FDA-approved drug label, research papers and diagnostic testing information. It is intended to inform and educate care givers on the value, ease and importance of using pharmacogenetics in clinical medicine.
