Waypoints for ProTrain

The WayPoints app is designed to track location data for the purpose of improving efficiency and passenger comfort in Germany’s public transit systems. The ProTrain project will use the data point patterns to divert commuters to more efficient and comfortable routes via their smartphones. By using historical and real-time commuter data to detect occupancy levels in regional trains, we’ll be able to forecast accurate passenger guidance to make better use of existing capacity and infrastructure.
