WeatehrAndSoil gives location-specific soil and forecasted weather data.
Weather&Soil app was developed as a part of ongoing National Institute of Food and Agriculture/United States Department of Agriculture (NIFA/USDA) funded project – “Real-Time Site Specific Irrigation Scheduling Tools for Agricultural Crops and Urban Landscape in Texas Using a Mobile Web App.” The app gives location-specific forecasted hourly and daily weather data, soil type and soil hydrologic properties. The forecasted weather data is based on National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) / National Weather Service (NWS) and soil data is based on Web Soil Survey, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)/United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). We estimated reference evapotranspiration (ETo) using Hargreaves and Samani equation. This app will be useful for farmers and urban residents to manage their irrigation water application.
