Worket Jua Kali

Worket Jua Kali is a transformative digital platform designed to organize, digitize, and economically empower Uganda’s informal sector, the backbone of the country’s workforce.

With over 80% of Uganda’s population engaged in informal work, millions of skilled artisans such as farm managers, welders, carpenters, tailors, mechanics, and technicians remain largely invisible beyond their local communities. Despite their talent and contribution to the economy, they often lack access to wider markets, reliable verification systems, and consistent employment opportunities.

Worket Jua Kali addresses this gap by providing a centralized, mobile-first platform where artisans can create verified profiles, showcase their skills, and connect directly with individuals, businesses, and institutions in need of their services.

The platform goes beyond job matching. It creates a structured ecosystem that enables visibility, builds trust through verification, supports digital adoption, and unlocks access to economic opportunities at scale.

By integrating workforce data, digital tools, and structured processes, Worket Jua Kali contributes to:

• Increased income opportunities for artisans

• Improved service delivery and quality assurance

• Stronger connections between skills and employment

• Enhanced data-driven decision-making

Worket Jua Kali is more than a platform, it is a national digital infrastructure designed to unlock the full potential of the informal sector, drive inclusive economic growth, and position Uganda for a more connected and digitally empowered future
