Worm Digger

Worm Digger is a tap-the-burrow arcade built around a single, tightly tuned ritual: read the soil, time the tap. The plot you play on is a freshly turned garden bed rendered in earthy browns and weathered greys. Burrows constantly open and shut across the plot; what surfaces inside them decides whether you grow your stash or take a hit to your score.

The reactor of the game is a deterministic spawn engine that rolls weighted critters into open burrows and shuts each window down on a timer that contracts as the round progresses. The longer you stay alive in the round, the smaller the reaction window and the more burrows can pop at once. Each tap is committed against the burrow's resolution flag, which means double-taps and frantic mashing never produce phantom rewards.

Coins earned in a round feed the Market Stall, a wooden side panel where six unique boosters wait. Three are accelerators that bend the round in your favour by raising worm spawn rate, doubling apple bloom, or tripling the chance of a golden crown. The other three are decelerators that bend the threats away: holes stay open longer, mole encounters drop sharply, and the difficulty curve itself can be slowed to a crawl. Up to three boosters can be equipped per round and each is consumed on launch, which keeps every match a small budgeting problem instead of a permanent power creep.

The interface is built with a layout-aware grid that resizes between three and six columns depending on shortest-side width, with extra rows added on tall aspects so phones, foldables, and tablets all get a generous, fair playing field. Every screen sits on one of two hand-illustrated soil-bed backgrounds, splash and onboarding included, and a parchment-on-timber UI keeps the focus on the plot itself.

What sets Worm Digger apart is its commitment to the metaphor: no neon arcade noise, no third-party assets, no ad-driven loops. It is a small, self-contained, single-screen game about patience and the rhythm of a freshly dug garden, with a private booster economy you actually earn through play.
