About Xposed App Settings

Xposed App Settings is a system customization module that overrides per app behavior and interface settings.

Xposed App Settings, also known as App Settings Reborn, helps when you need different behavior from different apps without changing global system options. It runs inside an Xposed or LSPosed framework to apply rules only to the apps you select. With this approach, you tailor display, interface, notifications, and permission handling to match each app’s needs. If you plan to get the Xposed App Settings APK, note that it complements your existing setup rather than replacing your device’s Settings app.

What Xposed App Settings can do

Per app display and locale

You can adjust how each app renders content by changing density, font scale, and locale. Xposed App Settings can also present a different screen size to the app so it loads resources designed for that size. These changes apply only to the chosen app and leave your global display settings untouched. This is useful when an app looks cramped or oversized compared to others.

UI behavior options

Control specific interface behaviors without affecting the rest of the system. For example, you can force fullscreen, hide the title bar, keep the screen on while the app is open, or show an app above the lockscreen. There is also an option to enforce left to right layouts for apps that ignore your device language direction. These toggles let you correct small annoyances that slow down daily use.

Orientation settings per app

Lock an app to portrait, landscape, or allow automatic rotation based on your preference. This is helpful for games, readers, and video tools that work better in a fixed orientation. The selection stays in place for that app until you change it again, and it does not influence orientation in other apps.

Privacy and media controls

Decide whether an app can be captured in screenshots or recorded in screen videos. You can also mute an app’s audio and notifications, including insistent or ongoing alerts that normally repeat. These controls help reduce interruptions while keeping other apps unaffected. If a change seems inactive immediately, a reboot may be needed for it to take effect.

Tasks, memory, and permissions

Manage how apps appear and remain in the recent tasks view by forcing inclusion, excluding them, or keeping them resident longer. Certain task related options may need a reboot before they apply. You can also revoke or restore individual permissions per app using guided steps in the module. The permission workflow uses saves and reboots so the system recognizes your changes reliably.

Before you download Xposed App Settings

This module requires an active Xposed or LSPosed environment. It is not a standalone tool and it does not replace your system Settings, nor does it use Shizuku. A Magisk setup alone is not enough unless it provides an Xposed framework. Development for this fork has been archived, so you should look to LSPosed releases for builds and the community thread on XDA for discussion and tips.

Compatibility notes for Xposed App Settings

The module is forked from the classic project by rovo89 and has been validated mainly on select Samsung firmware and other devices running LSPosed. Results vary by device, firmware, and target app, and some functions do not apply universally. Behavior on the newest Android releases is uncertain, so reviewing LSPosed logs can help confirm whether hooks are loading. Older projects such as App Settings gb are separate forks with different maintenance status and behavior.

Reboot and permission steps

Several notification and task options only apply after a full reboot, so plan changes when you can restart. Permission edits require a two step flow to finalize. First choose the permissions you want to change, save, and reboot. Then open the same app entry again, save once more, and reboot a second time so the system commits the change.

How to use Xposed App Settings

Use this module inside an Xposed or LSPosed setup to apply per app rules cleanly. For stability, make one change at a time and verify the result before adjusting more items. If you are moving from an older build to the Xposed App Settings latest version, review your existing rules after updating.

  1. Set up an Xposed or LSPosed environment on your device and ensure it is active before starting.
  2. Enable Xposed App Settings in your module manager, then reboot so the hooks load correctly.
  3. Open Xposed App Settings, browse the app list, and select the app you want to configure.
  4. Adjust display, UI, orientation, privacy, tasks, or permissions as needed, then tap save to store the rule.
  5. Reboot when prompted. For permission changes, save and reboot, reopen the same submenu, save again, and reboot once more.

Start configuring your apps

Xposed App Settings applies targeted rules so each app behaves the way you prefer. It focuses on per app display, interface, notifications, tasks, and permissions without changing system wide defaults. To begin, download Xposed App Settings and apply rules gradually while checking results after each reboot.
