The Gayatri Mantra is a very important traditional religious mantra. Like other mantras in the Vedas, the Gayatri Mantra is "unparalleled" (i.e., not composed by any human being) and is revealed to a Brahmarshi (Brahmarshi Vishwamitra in the case of the Gayatri Mantra). This mantra is composed in Vedic Sanskrit language.
