Suchitra Bhattacharya was born on 10 January 1950 at Mamarbari in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. Although his ancestral home was in Bahrampur town of Murshidabad district, he spent his school and college life in Calcutta. She graduated from Jogmaya Devi College, Calcutta. [2] She was married while studying at Calcutta University. After working in various places, he joined the government service. She resigned from her job in 2004 to devote her full time to writing. Until the last day of his life, he was a resident of Dhakuria area of ​​South Kolkata. Suchitra Bhattacharya died of a heart attack at her home on May 12, 2015 at 10:45 pm.
