Of these, 45.3% of scheduled Tribe (ST) and Schedule Cast (SC) 31.5% people fall under this line. This information was given by the Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh in the Lok Sabha. The minister said that according to the figures of 2011-12, about 27 crore people (21.92%) are living below the poverty line in the country. 45.3% of schedule trips and 31.5% of schedule cast are below the poverty line. He said that the government has taken several steps to improve the lives of people and to eliminate poverty.
Earlier, in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha had informed that among the children leaving school drop-outs in the country, Schedule Cast, Scheduled Tribe and Muslim communities have the highest number of students. According to the District Education Information System, he said that dropouts of students of Muslim and Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe students are more than the average drop-outs of the country. According to this data, the average drop-out rate for children of all classes of the country at the primary level is 4.13%, Schedule 4.46 of Schedule Cast, 6.93% of Scheduled Tribe and 6.54% of Muslim community. Similarly, the average drop-out rate of all categories in high school is 4.03%, then 5.51% of the schedule cast, 8.59% of the Schedule Tribe and 9.49% of the Muslim community. In the middle school, the average drop-out rate of all categories is 17.06%, then schedule cast of 19.36%, 24.68% of schedule tribe and 24.12% of Muslim community. (With agency input)
