The project "Chamois" - "Wild goat"

Title:

"Strengthening the connectivity of the Balkan Ibex in Northwest Greece (PONT area of ​​interest)"

Purpose:

Ensuring the unimpeded movement and communication of the populations of the Balkan wild goat (Rupicapra rupicapra balcanica) in Northwest Greece, which is also the area of ​​application of the project.

The main actions:

· The determination of the distribution pattern and the ecological corridors that connect the distribution areas of the wild goat populations and the drawing up of an appropriate Management Plan.

· The identification of threats and pressures that negatively affect the use of ecological corridors by wild goats.

· The promotion of cooperation between the involved bodies and citizen groups in the project area, including the Greece-Albania cross-border zone, but also more broadly in the whole of Greece and in the cross-border zones where wild goat populations are endemic.
