UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF FIQIH

Linguistically, the rule is taken from the Arabic word 'Qa'idah', which means foundation or basis. Meanwhile, rule is the plural form of 'Qaa'idah'.

In terms of terminology, fiqh rules are universal laws or matters that can be used to understand several laws and problems that fall within the scope of its discussion. (See at-Ta'rifat by al-Jurjani, p. 177)

Meanwhile, linguistically, fiqh is taken from the word الْفِقْهُ, which means understanding.
