Alumnet is a social networking platform built for all types of educational institution to allow their alumni to make connections, network with their peers, find jobs and support and keep in touch with all the news and events happening at their institution.

If your institution has signed up to the platform you will be able to access up to date information about your fellow alumni and news and activities from the institution in real time wherever and whenever you want.

You can join groups, and if there is something that you want to share with your alumni you can create your own groups so you can share what matters to you with your alumni community.

The platform is intuitive and easy to use and gives you instant access to your alumni community in a way that works for you and at a time that suits you.

You will find all the features and safeguarding functionality that you would expect, delivered in an environment that you will find familiar and will feel immediately at home.

Features include but are not limited to the following:

Newsfeed – That only shows content from the groups and topics you are interested in.

Events – See what events are coming up, who is going and invite your friends.

My connections – Find people who are willing to help that work in your sector, find opportunities for work experience or find a mentor.

Chat – For more personal conversations there is a one to one chat messaging service.

Marketplace – If you have a product of service to sell you can sell it to your alumni community by advertising in the marketplace, advertising revenue is shared with your institution so you’re doing a good thing.

Notifications – You will be notified when your posts are liked, when you are tagged in a post, invited to an event or have received and chat message. If you’re popular and getting too many notifications you can turn some of them off.

Safeguarding – There are all the features you would expect, in order to keep the site safe and keep alumni protected. Posts can be reported and will immediately be quarantined for review the by the site admin.
