BFCA Connect

BFCA Connect is a community app designed to bring together everyone who plays a role in supporting children and young people in care.

Built by Black Foster Carers Alliance (BFCA), the app creates a shared space for foster carers, kinship carers, social workers, mentors, and people who are interested in fostering — whether you’re just exploring the idea or already part of the care system.

BFCA Connect is rooted in one simple belief: care works best when it’s shared.

Community Feed & Chat Connect with others through a supportive community feed and topic-based chat rooms. Share experiences, ask questions, and learn from people who understand the realities of care.

Reflection Cards & Suggestions Explore guided reflection cards designed to encourage learning, self-awareness, and better practice. Each card includes a suggestions space where users can share what has helped them in real situations.

Mentoring (Premium) Access structured, virtual mentoring with approved mentors who have lived or professional experience. Mentoring is carefully managed and designed to provide safe, supportive guidance.

Name Pronunciation Helper Learn how to say names respectfully using a pronunciation tool that allows you to hear names spoken aloud, add regional context, and record family preferences.

Language Map Explore languages around the world using an interactive map. Discover greetings and everyday phrases, with spoken pronunciation to support connection, inclusion, and cultural understanding. With global coverage.

Library & Resources Access articles, guidance, and downloadable resources, including editions of Voice of the Alliance, BFCA’s publication sharing insight, lived experience, and good practice.
