The Crafts subject aims to develop students' knowledge, skills and self-confidence through self-produced products by utilizing the potential of natural resources in the surrounding environment. Crafts is also an applied science that applies various fields of knowledge to solve practical problems that directly affect our daily lives.

The scope of craft subjects for class VII middle school includes four aspects, namely Crafts, Engineering, Cultivation and Processing. Where from the four aspects, students are expected to be able to make products by utilizing the potential of the natural environment. This class VII craft book is a revised edition prepared with reference to the 2013 curriculum which has been refined, both core competencies and basic competencies. In this craft book, each discussion is accompanied by pictures and assignments that help students understand the material by encouraging them to actively explore their environment and other learning media.

The author's hope is that this book can motivate students to be more creative and innovative in solving practical problems by utilizing potential resources and bringing out the advantages that exist in their respective regions. The author also hopes that this book can contribute to efforts to improve the quality of student learning outcomes and help preserve the crafts, culture and technology of the Indonesian nation.

The author realizes that there are still many shortcomings in the efforts to prepare this book. For this reason, the author really looks forward to all suggestions and criticism to improve this book.
