bY Social allows individuals to “Share, Trace, Control and Relax”. They are able to locally create any content with associated conditions on its availability and degree of separation. They encrypt the content and store it on the vanilla platform and share it with their contacts by creating transactions on the blockchain that define its accessibility. Receiving parties access the contents shared with them from blockchain and retrieve the encrypted content to be decrypted locally. The PCA integrated with the bY social app. allows them to manage their contacts, locally encrypt and decrypt contents. Any further shares on a content must satisfy the conditions that were specified on it by the content creator. For instance, a degree of separation condition on a content determines whether the receiving party could further share that content. The degree of separation controls the length of a content share chain and it value depreciates each time such a share is received, ultimately disallowing any further shares. bY Social also provides users a complete history of all the shares made with their content and the ability for them to revoke access from a single entity or a group of individuals belonging to a share subchain. They are also able to “forget” a content completely removing it from all individuals it was earlier shared with.
