ByeByeDPI is a free, open-source app that lets you run a local VPN-style service to easily bypass censorship and DPI (Deep Packet Inspection). It's important to note, however, that the app itself is not a VPN. It simply redirects your traffic; it does not send data to any remote server or hide your IP address.

First, set up the app properly

The Settings menu in ByeByeDPI can feel a bit overwhelming at first. That's why the project's GitHub page includes a very thorough guide with all the steps you need to configure the app correctly. It's a long guide, but very easy to follow. You can access it directly by tapping the Documentation button at the bottom of the Settings menu.

No root or excessive privileges required

Unlike other apps of this kind, ByeByeDPI works perfectly without requiring root access on your Android device. It also doesn't collect user data or request suspicious permissions. In fact, you can manage exactly which permissions it has from the app's own Settings menu. For example, Storage permission is only needed if you plan to export or import your configuration.
