HOW TO PLAY

Each player receives 13 cards and makes a call, or bid, predicting how many tricks they will win. Your goal is to win at least as many tricks as you bid while preventing opponents from reaching their targets.

Spades are always trump. Choose your bid carefully, follow the cards played and decide when to use your strongest cards.

PLAYING A TRICK

Follow the led suit whenever possible. If you have a higher card of that suit than the cards already played, you must play it. Otherwise, play another card of the same suit.

If you cannot follow suit, play a spade if you have one. If you have neither the led suit nor a spade, you may play any card.

The highest spade wins the trick. If no spade is played, the highest card of the led suit wins. The winner leads the next trick.

SCORING

• Reach your bid to earn points equal to your call.

• Each extra trick earns an additional 0.1 point.

• Miss your bid and lose points equal to your call.

• The player with the highest total score after five rounds wins.
