CarCam

CarCam uses your cell's camera(s) to record videos during your ride. It uses short video files to facilitate reliability and robustness. You have a choice of resolution, wideness and file sizes, based on your device. You may also limit the number of days video files are kept on your device as well as the amount of storage to use.

CarCam supports both foreground and background recording. The foreground mode may be switched to Picture-In-Picture mode to enable using other apps (e.g. google maps) and still keep recording.

Background mode is totally transparent. The app will activate a background service for recording and will terminate its standard user interface portion, leaving only a small round always-on-top icon to control its activity.

CarCam also utilizes the bluetooth device. You may configure CarCam to react to bluetooth connections to auto-launch and auto-start recording (e.g. car's bluetooth connection). This way the entire operation from start to stop is automatically.

CarCam provides preview. It will show a list of video files currently stored on the device.

CarCam also provides direct upload to google drive as well as general purpose sharing of videos, thus if you want to keep a video of interest, simply upload it to google drive or share it.

CarCam contains in-app help screens, facilitating ease of use.
