Cipher Compass: Hidden Vault

Cipher Compass is a private photo vault and secure file locker disguised as a fully working compass app. Hide photos, videos, files, and documents behind strong encryption — no vault icon, no secret folder visible on your device. To anyone else, it is just a compass.

Keep your personal photos, private videos, sensitive documents, and confidential files away from curious eyes — whether it is a shared phone, a nosy friend, or anyone who picks up your device.

WHY A COMPASS AND NOT A CALCULATOR VAULT?

Calculator vault apps are widely known — it is the first disguise anyone suspicious will check. Cipher Compass uses a fully functional compass with real magnetic sensor data and live degree readings. It behaves exactly like a premium compass app because it genuinely is one. Your private vault stays hidden in plain sight with plausible deniability built into every layer.

HOW THE VAULT UNLOCK WORKS

A three-factor unlock sequence only you know: your secret compass bearing + a custom gesture + PIN or fingerprint. One wrong step and the app silently stays a compass. No error message. No indication a vault exists.

QUICK SETUP — UNDER 2 MINUTES

Choose your secret bearing, your unlock gesture — Tap and Hold or Cardinal Sequence — and your PIN with optional fingerprint. A 12-word offline recovery phrase is generated and verified before your vault is created.

OFFLINE RECOVERY — NO CLOUD, NO ACCOUNT

No account. No server. No email reset. Forget your PIN? Use your 12-word BIP-39 recovery phrase to reset entirely on your device. Your vault and all contents stay intact.

WHAT YOU CAN STORE AND VIEW

Everything opens inside the app — nothing ever reaches your gallery, file manager, or any other app.

• Photos — JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, HEIC and more — full in-app viewer

• Videos — MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI and more — full in-app player

• PDFs, text files, CSVs, HTML — full in-app viewer

• Audio files, documents, archives — encrypted and stored securely

STRONG ENCRYPTION

• AES-256-GCM encryption with a unique IV per file

• Argon2id key derivation — recommended by OWASP, used by leading password managers

• Keys stored in Android hardware-backed Keystore — never leave your device

• Files decrypted in memory only — never written to disk in plaintext
