ContextFolder Smart App Folder

ContextFolder is a context-aware home screen widget organizer for Android that adapts automatically, manually, or both. Think of it as a customizable app folder and launcher widget that replaces a cluttered home screen with one tidy, always-relevant view.

Two widget sizes, your choice

Use the full scrollable grid widget to see everything at a glance, or the compact badge widget for a tiny footprint that still opens your full app list with one tap.

Manual control, tier by tier

Assign any app to Show, Top, or Hide it entirely - or send less-used apps to "More," one tap away instead of cluttering your main view. Scrolling means there's no cap on how many apps you organize.

Smart sorting, zero effort

Turn on usage-based sorting and your most-tapped apps automatically rise to the top - or show a "recently used" row pulled out of the grid so nothing repeats.

The spiritual successor to Contextual App Folder (C.A.F.)

If you used C.A.F. before it stopped keeping up with modern Android, ContextFolder picks up where it left off - the same idea, rebuilt from scratch, with a lot more automation.

Rules that react on their own - optional, per app

Want an app to show up automatically? Attach a condition - Bluetooth connection, time of day, or driving detection - to any app, and it reacts without you touching anything. Use as much or as little automation as you want; everything also works with zero rules at all.

One-tap manual profiles

Switch between profiles instantly - from the widget itself, a Quick Settings tile, or an automation app like Tasker or MacroDroid - for anything you'd rather control directly than automate.

Made to fit your home screen

Resize the widget, adjust transparency, icon size, and spacing to match your setup. Choose how the controls appear too - a pinned footer bar, tucked into the scrollable grid, woven in as ordinary icons, or minimal corner accents - whatever fits your look.

Fast, lightweight, and private by design

ContextFolder was built to stay out of your way. It's lightweight, battery-friendly, and opens instantly - every rule is evaluated right on your device, with no cloud, no account, and no ads involved. Nothing about your app usage ever leaves your phone. Permissions stay limited to exactly what each optional feature needs, so you're never asked for more than the widget actually uses.

Free to start

Use ContextFolder free with one widget and up to 8 tracked apps. Rules and manual profiles are always free. A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited widgets and tracked apps, plus automation and backup/restore.
