der Freitag

We simply want to change the world: der Freitag has stood for independent and progressive journalism since 1990. The app offers daily news, analyses, and commentary on politics, business, culture, and society – critical, courageous, and opinionated.

Every day, you'll find current articles in the Freitag app. We take the perspective of a weekly newspaper and examine current events and the big questions behind them. To help you navigate the daily deluge of news, Freitag puts world events into context and explores the issues beyond the fast news and superficial headlines.

You also have access to selected articles from the British daily newspaper The Guardian and the Sunday newspaper The Observer, translated into German.

Whether you're on the go or at home, thanks to a modern text-to-speech function, you can have a wide selection of articles read aloud by a natural-sounding voice.
