Detox Screen Locker

Detox Screen Locker helps you take your time back and build real self-control.

Willpower runs out. A promise backed by money doesn't. Pick the apps that pull you in, set how long they stay locked and put a pledge on it, from $5 to $100. Finish the detox and you pay nothing. Give in early and you pay the pledge. That small cost is often exactly what you need to put the phone down.

HOW YOUR DETOX WORKS

• Choose what distracts you: social media, video, games, browsers. Common distractions are suggested first, or select everything in one tap.

• Set the time: from 5 minutes to 7 days.

• Back it with a pledge: $5, $10, $15, $20, $30, $40, $50, $75 or $100.

• Lock. Open a locked app and a calm full-screen lock with a countdown reminds you of your promise.

SELF-CONTROL, NOT JUST A TIMER

• While a detox runs, the settings that could switch the app off are locked too, so there's no quick escape. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the rest of Settings keep working.

• Before you pay to unlock, you stop and confirm that you're breaking your own promise. Many people change their mind right there.

• One free unlock per month for real emergencies.

SEE YOURSELF GROW

• Sessions in a row

• Time taken back

• Completed detoxes

• Full history of every session

Every detox you finish makes the next one easier.

SAFE BY DESIGN

• Phone, messages and settings are never included in "Select all", so you won't lock yourself out of calls by accident.

• Emergency calls always work.

PRIVACY

• No account and no ads.

• Which app is open is checked on your phone only and never leaves it.

• Your sessions and history are stored on your device.

PERMISSIONS

• Usage access: to see which app is open right now.

• Display over other apps: to show the lock screen.

• Notifications (optional): time left and a message when your detox is over.

Payments are processed by Google Play. An early-unlock payment is a penalty for breaking your pledge: your apps unlock immediately, so the payment is final.
