Importance of Darood

Allah says in his book:

Indeed, Allah confers blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace. (Al-Quran 33:56)

Besides the commands given in Quran, sending Darood Sharif upon the Prophet has also been made part of the daily five prayers (salat) and without Darood Sharif the prayers remain incomplete.
