Fluminense Football Club, commonly referred to as Fluminense, is a Brazilian multi-sport

club based in the neighborhood of Laranjeiras, located in the South Zone of the city of Rio

de Janeiro, capital of the state of the same name. Founded on July 21, 1902, its main

activity is football, hosting its matches at Maracanã. It competes in the Campeonato Carioca,

the main state league in Rio de Janeiro, as well as the Campeonato Brasileiro, the main

league in Brazil.
