DIP IFRS (ACCA)

It acts as a strong guiding force for those who are not already knowledgeable about the details of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

For publicly-traded companies, around 113 countries require or permit the use of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). An integrated company accounts are prepared by all listed companies in the European Union (EU) that need to abide with IFRS. It also affects associates and subsidiaries of EU-listed companies.

There are many countries, including India that are heading forward to apply IFRS to have a remarkable influence on financial reporting. Other countries such as Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa have already adopted IFRS or equivalents as their local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

You are eligible to take this ACCA financial reporting qualification if you are qualified as per the national accounting standards and if you are a professional accountant or auditor who works in practice or business.

You may still be considered eligible, if you are working in practice, but not yet qualified. You will need to prove that you have one of the following:

1. Two years' relevant accounting experience and a relevant degree (attracting at least ACCA qualification exemptions F1-F4)

2. Two years‘ relevant accounting experience and an ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting

3. Three years' relevant accounting experience

ACCA affiliate status

The Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards can be completed in three to six months. You may study online in case you are working and are occupied with social commitments.

To begin with, you may start anytime by applying online. The assessment of Dip IFRS is done by a three-hour written exam held twice a year with a pass mark of 50 per cent.
