By knowing the activities of our children in school, we can be more involved in our children's education and with better and concise and real-time communication channels, so parents can work more closely with teachers and schools to guide their children.

Based on a lot of research on the importance of the role of parents in education

This is reinforced by the formation of the directorate of family education development under the auspices of the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education and Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture Based on the approval of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform which was then determined through Minister of Education and Culture Regulation number 11 of 2015 concerning Organization and Ministry of Education and Culture Work Procedures.

The main target to be achieved from a number of the Ministry of Education and Culture's Family Education Directorate Development programs above is to increase access and quality of education services, especially family education for the people of Indonesia. Family education does not only include biological parents but also guardians or adults who are responsible for educating children.

Family education services provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture Directorate of Family Education Development are intended so that Indonesian adults who are adults know and understand about how to educate children from fetus to adulthood. The Ministry of Education and Culture targets that up to 2019 a total of 4,343,500 adults will receive family education services.

Efforts in increasing the role of parents in the education of their children, can be done with the following steps:

1. Control the learning time and learning methods of children. Children are taught to learn routinely, not only to learn when they get homework from school or to face tests. Every day children are taught to repeat the lessons given by the teacher on that day. And given understanding when children have time to play.

2. Monitor the development of children's academic abilities. Parents are asked to check the grades and tasks of their children.

3. Monitor the development of personality which includes attitudes, morals, character and behavior of children. This can be done by communicating with school parents and homeroom teachers to find out the child's development at school.

4. Monitor the effectiveness of study hours at school. Parents can ask about the activities their children are doing while in school. And what tasks are given by their teacher.

5. Monitor non-academic activities of children who are able to develop talents and interests and provide positive space for children, but if not followed and noticed can be abused and used as an excuse for children to do other activities

In addition to all of the above, there are a number of other things that need to be considered, namely helping children recognize themselves (their strengths and weaknesses), helping children develop potential according to their talents and interests, helping to lay a solid foundation for the success of children's lives and helping children design their lives.

Of course, parents are not enough to just monitor and know the details of all their academic and non-academic activities, the most important thing is attention and support and direct involvement for their son or daughter.
