Hot&Cold

Hot & Cold is a social network that lets people spontaneously jump into conversations together by sharing statuses on a geographical map. You can join to chat or just lurk, milling around to find what interests you.

The app makes a clever use of “hot” and “cold” colors to indicate information and activity on the map:

- High-energy conversations with many participants and messages are represented by clusters of red dots, indicating a discussion is “hot” while slower ones are displayed as “cold” with blue dots.

- Statuses which are intended to invite others to meet up will be “hot” with pink color, while statuses which were created to have an online discussion will be “cold” with light-blue color.

You can slip in and out to join different conversations and explore. The idea is to simulate a gathering place where you can wander up to chat with a group of people because you overhear something interesting. No transportation logistics or a plan are required because the app brings people together instantly, thereby eliminating the need to schedule togetherness ahead of time. You don’t need to have a prior connection with the people you want to chat with, so you can make new friends or simply just have a discussion. It allows you to connect with who you want and accomplish what you want.

All the statuses on the map will disappear after 24 hours. This keeps things relevant and allows real-time debates with people from different areas. Can't find anything interesting in your area? No worries! Explore the globe by searching for a city of your interest and fly over there with a single tap of your finger! Learn about the city and its most recent trends by checking out what the locals are talking about and join in to find out what’s on people’s minds.
