This application for kindergartens offers a first approach to rhythm and coordination through body percussion and simple listening games.

Description

The Rhythmic Cells application aims to introduce kindergarten students to the concept of rhythm using 50 "rhythmic cells" as a basis.

A rhythmic cell is a sequence of several beats. It can be played with musical instruments or, as in this application, with body percussion (the fact of clapping the hands, the foot or on the thighs for example). Students are thus encouraged to listen and then reproduce the cells offered in the application using their bodies, but also to create new ones. Listening games finally make it possible to work on students' concentration and to go further in mastering the rhythm.

Content of the application

- A catalog of 50 simple cells, 3 or 4 times, materialized in sounds and images (drawings of body percussions).

- A module for creating cells or sequences (a sequence of 2 or 3 cells).

- Four listening games.

- A sound lexicon to acquire your first musical notions.

Listening games

With 2 levels available, the four listening games on offer develop both students' attention and their ability to find their way around in space and time.

- The right cell: three cells are shown in pictures but only one is played; the student must find the cell corresponding to the sound. He has the possibility to listen to the cell played as many times as he wishes before validating his answer.

- Disorderly cells: a cell is played but is displayed out of order; the student must put the times in the correct order. He has the opportunity to compare the original cell and his own and take turns playing them before validating his answer.

- Cells to be reconstructed: a cell is played but is not displayed; It is up to the student to reconstruct the times using the images of the body percussions that are offered to him. He has the opportunity to compare the original cell and his own and take turns playing them before validating his answer.

- The intruder: a cell is played; the student must find the intruder time on the displayed cell image. He has the possibility of listening to the cell again to verify his response before validating it.
