Lumen Labs

Lumen is an award-winning social enterprise based in Nairobi, Kenya. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by making computer education accessible to under-served and last-mile communities.

We leverage the power of open-source content and project based learning to enable digital literacy in remote areas across Kenya. Working with schools and organizations, we provide a digital literacy course that challenges students to explore and solve problems in their community while using the computer as a tool.

By equipping students with digital literacy hard skills, as well as critical thinking soft skills, we believe that the next generation of change-makers can be found where they are most needed: right in their own communities.
