Parents of kids with addictions POKWA is an organization designed to help parents get through their child’s addictions. There is nothing worse than a parent seeing their child go through the symptoms of addiction. The hurt and pain sometimes can be very overwhelming for any parent to handle. Which many times results in the parent going through depression problems, family problems psychological problems and financial problems. POKWA mission is to create a network of parent support groups throughout orange county. The goal is to establish a strong network of services as well as parent to parent support groups to help with all adversities that come with fighting for our kid’s lives. POKWA network is a network of parents in the community that have joined forces to fight back against this epidemic of addiction. POKWA works closely with the best treatment centers and local community partners. The network will develop community events to raise awareness and come up with solutions to strengthen the community. The parent to parent support groups will give parents support through the various phases they will undergo in this challenging part in their lives. The support group will offer An environment of trust and understanding. POKWA will work closely with local treatment facilities to develop a network of parent certified treatment centers. The network will facilitate the transition through all levels of care to make the process sim less and effortless for parents and their kids. In a industry that usually is lacking in care and compassion for the victims of drug abuse, POKWA gives parents hope and the will to keep fighting.
