RKB-ODISHA

To bridge the gap between research and practice in rice production, the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) and Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (CIWA) have developed the Rice-based cropping system Knowledge Bank (RKB) Odisha - a digital extension service that provides practical knowledge solutions, tailored for smallholder farmers in Odisha.

RKB Odisha showcases rice production techniques, agricultural technologies, and best farming practices based on IRRI's pool of knowledge from research findings, learning and media resources, and in-country projects.

To facilitate easy access to information, RKB Odisha highlights the varieties grown in the state, Step-by-step Production Stages from pre-planting to post production management, ICT tools, and a resources section to help people make informed farming decisions.

RKB Odisha serves to address the biggest challenge to agricultural development by supporting fast and effective transfer of technologies from the research laboratory to the farmer's field.
