Si Booky

SiBooky is a digital book application for the Semarang City Library. At this early stage, SiBooky contains a collection of ebooks, both commercial ebooks with a DRM (Digital Right Management) system and open source or non-commercial ebooks without a DRM system. For ebooks with a DRM system, each new title is available for one book, so if this ebook is being read by other visitors, the next reader will have to wait first. As for open source or non-commercial books, they do not use the DRM system so that they can be read by anyone at the same time.

In the future, SiBooky's collection will be developed and expanded to meet the needs of the community, both the people of Semarang City, or the wider community because this collection can be accessed online.

Online loan management will also be developed later, so that the wider community can borrow books for a certain length of time to be read via smartphones. The Semarang City library ebook collection will also be provided in several public places that can be accessed without using an internet connection, but only with a Bluetooth connection with certain applications.

Hopefully the development of digital technology in the Semarang City Library can continue to be developed to improve public services in the field of literacy.
