The Snapseed app allows up to eight control points, which is enough for most targeted adjustments on a single photo.

Place a control point on a face to lift brightness, add another on a sky to reduce saturation, then slide to set values. When finer painting is better, switch to Brush and lightly paint warmth into skin tones or darken edges to guide the viewer’s eye.

Healing taps away small distractions like dust spots or power lines, Perspective and Rotate straighten horizons or correct tilted buildings, and Expand grows the canvas with intelligent edge fill to avoid tight crops. For best results, use Healing on simple backgrounds and zoom in to make precise strokes. On complex textures, artifacts can appear, so try smaller passes or switch to Perspective to crop and realign instead. Expand is handy for adding breathing room around a portrait or product shot when framing was tight.

Creative effects add mood without heavy setup. HDR Scape boosts detail and dynamic range, Double Exposure merges two images for layered visuals, and Lens Blur simulates bokeh with elliptical or linear shapes. The Snapseed app makes Lens Blur easy: choose the shape, then adjust blur strength, transition, and vignette to create natural depth.

Use a subtle blur around a subject to mimic a fast lens, or go linear to add tilt-shift style. With Double Exposure, blend a cityscape into a portrait for a modern poster look. If a filter feels too strong, dial it back or combine it with gentle tuning to avoid an artificial finish.

Looks let you save your favorite settings as presets. This speeds up batch edits and keeps a consistent style across a series. Portrait-focused Face Enhance and Face Pose help balance light on faces and refine posture when the original capture is slightly off. The Snapseed app also includes a dark theme in Settings, added in the recent update, which makes editing more comfortable at night and reduces eye strain.

Save a Look after tuning colors and contrast, then apply it with one tap to new photos. For headshots, brighten eyes and soften skin lightly to keep a natural result. The dark theme pairs well with longer sessions, especially when working on RAW files.
