TalkTime

In TalkTime, you can either sign up as a caller to speak to a volunteer or sign up as a volunteer to lend your ear.

When you sign up as a caller, you are randomly connected to a volunteer whom you can talk to about anything and everything without being judged. We feel the ideal caller is someone in need of communication. This can range, for example from a patient of autism who finds it much easier to talk to someone confidentially and anonymously over voice rather than standing in front of someone and having to think about hand gestures, to a retired soldier suffering from PTSD who wants to share their experience, to a depressed individual desperately wanting to get something off their chest, to even the elderly, who are often neglected and just want someone to talk to.

When you sign up as a volunteer, you will receive calls from people who want a non-judgemental person to talk to. We feel the ideal receiver is someone willing to listen to other people and their experiences, patiently, and be able to understand that the callers they are dealing with are often fragile. Life is tough, but we can make it easier for someone out there.
