TOSSIN : Loi de l'eau au Bénin

Water is vital. It is even said that it is source of life. So, to guarantee its protection and facilitate access to this capital resource, the Beninese State has adopted Law No. 2010-44 on water management in the Republic of Benin.

In 94 articles, this law defines the legal framework in which water must be used and protected. It guarantees the right of access to water for all and defines the sanctions applicable in case of water-related offenses.

The Law 2010-44 meets the needs of Goal 6 of the Duralble Development Objectives (SDGs) which aims for clean and accessible water for all is an essential element of the world in which we want to live. There is enough water on the planet to fulfill this dream.
