Offlingo: Offline Translator

Translate in airplane mode.

On a plane. In a subway overseas. Somewhere in the mountains with no signal. Offlingo is an offline translator that works with no internet connection at all.

Translation, speech recognition, read-aloud, and text recognition all run entirely on your device. No data is sent. No roaming charges, no hunting for free Wi-Fi.

Please check before installing

Offlingo runs on your device's built-in on-device AI (AICore / Gemini Nano), so it only works on certain devices:

- Google Pixel 9 series or later

- Samsung Galaxy S24 / S25 series

- Other AICore-compatible devices

Translation will not work on other devices. Please check your device before installing.

An internet connection is needed once, during initial setup, to download the translation model and voice packs. After that, everything works fully offline.

Four ways to translate

Conversation

Built for two people sharing one phone. Just speak — Offlingo detects which language you used, translates it into the other person's language, and reads it aloud. No switching buttons. If it detects the wrong language, tap the bubble to flip the direction.

Camera

Restaurant menus, station signs, product labels. Point your camera, take a shot, and Offlingo reads the text and translates it. Recognized text is split into blocks so you can pick what you need.

Text

Type and translate instantly. Copy the result, hear it read aloud, save it as a favorite, or translate it back to check that nothing got lost.

Voice

Skip the keyboard and just speak. You can see the words appear as they are recognized.

Works from other apps too

Found something in a foreign language in your browser or on social media? Select the text, choose "Translate with Offlingo," and get the translation without switching apps. Sharing to Offlingo works too.

Your words never leave your phone

The text you translate, the audio from your microphone, and the photos from your camera are never sent to any server. Everything is processed on your device.

Your translation history is stored only in a local database on your phone. Delete the app and it goes with it.

Confidential work discussions, medical or legal conversations, private messages — this is exactly the kind of content you should be able to translate without sending it anywhere.

History and favorites

Every translation is saved automatically. Star the phrases you use often and they become an offline phrasebook you can pull up while traveling. Filter by language pair or search your history.

Note: voice input and read-aloud availability varies by language. The settings screen shows which of translation, voice input, and read-aloud is available for each language.

Offlingo is free to use and shows a banner ad at the bottom of the screen. A one-time purchase removes it permanently — no subscription, no further charges.
