About Voyager & Space Object Widget

Live Voyager & space object distance, light time and velocity widgets.

On November 18, 2026 at 10:16, Voyager 1 reaches a remarkable milestone: one full light-day from Earth. At that distance, light itself needs about 24 hours to travel one way between Earth and Voyager 1.

The next major milestone follows on September 5, 2027, when Voyager 1 has been in space for 50 years. Voyager 2 reaches its 50-year milestone earlier, and Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 have already passed theirs.

Voyager & Space Object Tracker was created to follow these engineering achievements, celebrate their milestones and honor the spacecraft that continue to represent human curiosity far beyond the planets.

Voyager & Space Object Tracker brings deep-space exploration to your Android home screen.

Add a clean, space-themed widget and follow distance from Earth, relative velocity, one-way light time and mission age for iconic spacecraft and selected Solar System objects.

Free version:

• Voyager 1

• Voyager 2

• Pioneer 10

• Pioneer 11

• Distance from Earth

• Relative velocity

• Basic home screen widgets

• Metric and imperial units

• Widget text color selection

• Manual data refresh

Tracker Pro unlocks:

• One-way light time

• Mission age since launch

• Additional spacecraft

• Solar System objects

• Local Horizons catalog refresh

• 5-year emergency backup data

With the local Horizons catalog refresh, Tracker Pro can also discover additional spacecraft and space objects that are available through JPL Horizons. This allows the app to follow not only historic missions, but also future missions once they become available in the Horizons catalog, such as upcoming Artemis missions.

Voyager & Space Object Tracker uses public JPL Horizons data and displays values referenced to the center of Earth. The app is designed for astronomy fans, space enthusiasts, educators, students, families and anyone fascinated by the farthest human-made objects in space.

The app is also a great way to help children understand extreme distances. Seeing how long light needs to travel from Earth to Voyager makes deep-space exploration more tangible and easier to explain — especially when looking at planets or the night sky together.

Features:

• Home screen widgets in 2×1, 3×1, 4×1 and 5×1 sizes

• Distance from Earth

• One-way light time

• Mission age since launch

• Relative velocity

• Voyager, Pioneer, spacecraft and Solar System object selection

• Support for additional Horizons spacecraft and future missions when available

• Metric and imperial units

• Widget text color selection for better readability

• Automatic widget refresh about every 15 minutes

• Live in-app display with second-by-second updates

• Manual JPL data refresh

• Local Horizons target catalog refresh

• Local 5-year emergency backup data

• Built-in share function for current spacecraft data and milestones

• Feedback option inside the app

Use the share function to send current distance, light time, mission age and special milestone moments to friends, family, classrooms or social apps. It is a simple way to turn deep-space numbers into something people can see, discuss and understand.

Voyager & Space Object Tracker is a widget-first app. After installing, open the app for setup instructions, then add a Voyager Tracker widget to your home screen. You can choose the target, unit system and widget text color inside the app.

For additional reliability, Tracker Pro can store local emergency backup data on a daily basis for the next five years. This backup can be used as a fallback if live JPL Horizons data is temporarily unavailable.

The app manages its data locally on the user’s device. It does not require a separate developer-operated server for the Horizons catalog.

The app does not require an account, does not collect location data and does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

Voyager & Space Object Tracker is an independent app and is not affiliated with NASA or JPL.
