About Call For Fire

Call For Fire is a mobile offensive fires trainer for indirect fire simulation practice.

Simulation Training Group designed it for users who need structured artillery fire training based on real procedure. Its main value is the way it turns fire mission communication into a focused training flow rather than an action game. The main tools inside the app support this practical learning style:

Observation Post view for starting and managing fire mission practice Grid and Polar missions for target location training RATEL procedure guidance through each fire mission stage Line OT, bracketing, and correction practice after impact After Action Reviews for saving, checking, and sharing missions

Observation Post Fire Mission Flow

The training starts from an Observation Post view, where the user works through a radio-based fire mission instead of moving through a battlefield like a shooter. Call For Fire keeps the focus on identifying the target, preparing the request, and sending information in the right order.

This setup makes the app useful for soldiers, trainees, instructors, and users studying indirect fire coordination. A typical session begins with choosing a mission, checking the target situation, and following the guided communication flow. The pace is deliberate, which helps users pay attention to procedure, timing, and clarity. Users expecting quick combat action may find it slow, but that slower rhythm fits the training goal.

Grid And Polar Mission Practice

Grid and Polar missions give users two different ways to work on target location. Call For Fire uses these mission types to help users understand how target data changes depending on the method being practiced.

In a Grid mission, the user follows the target location process built around grid information. In a Polar mission, the workflow centers on observer-target direction and distance. The app does not treat these as casual menu choices, because each method changes how the fire mission is built. This makes the experience more useful for users who want to compare practical mission formats and learn why accurate target information matters before rounds are adjusted.

RATEL Audio And Radio Procedure

Real RATEL fire mission audio is one of the strongest training elements. Call For Fire uses voice and text guidance to demonstrate how radio communication should sound during a fire mission.

The guided interface helps users move through the required information in sequence, so the communication pattern feels organized rather than random. Audio support is especially helpful when practicing callouts, because users can hear the rhythm and structure of mission traffic. The language button also supports available voice and text languages, including English and Arabic. Language support appears limited for now, with more options still listed as coming soon, so some users may need to train in one of the currently supported languages.

Adjustments And After Action Reviews

After rounds impact, the app shifts attention to correction practice. Call For Fire supports Line OT adjustment, target bracketing, and correction work, helping users understand what happens after the first request is sent.

The user observes the impact, applies a correction, and continues until the target is addressed. Once the mission is complete, BDA adds a final assessment step. After Action Reviews let users save, review, and share completed missions, which is valuable for instructors or trainees who want to discuss performance after practice. This review function gives the indirect fire simulation more long-term training value because missions do not disappear once the exercise ends.

Call For Fire Pros & Cons

The strengths and limits of Call For Fire come from its clear training purpose. It is built for structured fire mission learning, so its value depends on whether the user wants realistic procedure instead of casual action.

Pros Realistic workflow based on US JFIRE doctrine Useful for trainees, instructors, and military learners Supports Grid and Polar mission practice Includes real RATEL fire mission audio After Action Reviews support mission review and sharingCons Not designed for fast-paced shooting gameplay Military terms may feel difficult at first Current language support appears limited
