Eezy-ride (check-in / check-out)

Our app provides a ride service where users explicitly start and end a ride using a Check-In / Check-Out action.

When the user taps “check in now”, the app immediately starts a location foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_TYPE_LOCATION). This service continuously tracks the user’s GPS location for the entire duration of the active ride in order to: Accurately measure ride duration and distance, calculate the correct ride price in real time, prevent gaps in location tracking when the app is minimized, the screen is locked, or the app is running in the background

A foreground service is required because background location access alone cannot guarantee uninterrupted, high-frequency location updates during an active ride, which would result in incorrect pricing of the ride. While a ride is active, the app displays a persistent foreground service notification clearly informing the user that location tracking is in progress.

The user can stop the ride at any time by tapping “check out now”, at which point the foreground service is immediately stopped and location tracking ends. The location foreground service is used only during an active, user-initiated ride and is never used outside of this context.
