Engine Simulator

A mechanics and driving simulator: you build your car's engine part by part, hear it run, then drive it in 3D on open roads and race tracks.

It's not just a racing game. It's where you find out why an engine works, and why it breaks.

▬ BUILD IT

16 layouts: single-cylinder, inline, V, VR, W, boxer, Wankel, H, U, X, radial, rotary radial, opposed-piston, triangular opposed-piston, articulated rotor and vane rotor. Up to 28 cylinders, four-stroke, two-stroke or Stirling. Plus steam, a jet engine, electric and hybrid.

Set bore and stroke to a tenth of a millimeter, then the valves, cams, exhaust, crank timing and rev limiter. 13 forced-induction setups, from a single turbo to superchargers and turbo-compound. Mean piston speed is shown in m/s: past 25, only a race engine holds together.

BUILD AN ENGINE goes further: you pick every part, the game works out the power, and the weakest part fails first. ENGINE SWAP draws five engines at random for your car.

▬ HEAR IT, MEASURE IT

Engine sound is calculated from the mechanics: cylinder count, firing order, exhaust, turbo. An animated cutaway shows pistons, rods and valves moving at true engine speed, and the torque and horsepower curves follow every change.

The roller DYNO measures your real power curve at full throttle. ENGINE MAP is ECU tuning: timing, mixture, boost, launch control, anti-lag. Switch off the safeguards and the engine can let go.

▬ AND IT BREAKS

Over-rev and a valve snaps. Turbos wear out, bad shifts kill the clutch, and exhaust gas that runs too hot melts a piston.

Oil ages, and sugar in the tank clogs the filter. The smoke tells you what's wrong: blue for oil, white for coolant, black when it runs rich.

Catalytic converter, particulate filter and EGR are fitted according to the model year, and the cat can melt. Crashes leave their mark: crumpled panels, wheels torn off.

▬ THEN YOU DRIVE IT

Interior, hood or exterior view. 21 gearboxes: stick shift with a clutch pedal, automatic, dual-clutch, sequential, CVT, truck splitter…

With realistic physics, the body dives under braking, squats under power and rolls in corners, and a truck turns in more slowly than a city car. With a gamepad or tilt steering, on race tracks and in GRAND TOUR, catching a sliding rear-drive car is up to you.

Steer by touch, by tilting the phone, with a gamepad (15 assignable controls, rumble) or with a keyboard on PC, in portrait or landscape.

Sun, rain or thunderstorms, from −20 to 45 °C. Night falls for real, and in a pre-2010 vehicle, switching on the headlights is your job.

▬ WHERE TO DRIVE

GRAND TOUR: a 100 km² country to explore by road, ringed by a highway with toll booths and tunnels. Inside: towns with roundabouts, the sea, a snowy mountain, a mountain pass, a kart track and a dirt autocross.

30 circuits: the Speedway, 14 race tracks and 15 road circuits with live traffic. Five endless roads, including a three-lane highway and a mountain descent. Up to five opponents, police with speed cameras, and a 12-point driving license.

▬ 1,803 VEHICLES

92 fictional makes and 502 model lines from 1896 to 2026: cars, motorcycles, quads, trucks, buses, tractors, tanks and stand-up scooters, from under 1 hp to 10,850 hp. A workshop to fit parts, a garage to keep your rides. Trailers and caravans hitch up, and you feel them.

▬ WHAT THE GAME DOESN'T DO

No account, no game server: it plays offline. Your vehicles and engines stay on your phone, and can be exported to a file.

The game itself sends nothing. Ads are served by Google, which uses your device's advertising ID (with your consent where required). They only show when you open a menu, no more than once every three minutes. A one-time purchase removes them.
