You have a job in the Backrooms: go in, fill the bag, and be out of the halls before the thing living in them works out where you are.

BACKROOMS: EXTRACTION RUN is a one-handed, portrait extraction game. No lobby, no queue, no internet. Just a floor, a quota, and an exit you have to prove is real.

▸ EVERY SOUND IS A TRAIL

The Entity cannot see. It hears. Footsteps, doors, breaking glass and your own panic all bloom as coloured echoes across the halls — gold for the true exit, red for the thing hunting you. Learn to read the echoes and you can walk right past it. Sprint, and you have drawn it a map.

▸ THREE DOORS. ONE OF THEM LEAVES

Fake exits look exactly like the real one. The carpet gets damp as you close on the true way out, and the real door hums gold through the walls. Inspecting the wrong door is loud, and it will come.

▸ ONLY EXTRACTION COUNTS

Everything in your bag is worth nothing until you are through the door. Get pounced and it takes the bag first — that is your one warning. Die in the halls and the run stays in the halls.

▸ SOMEONE IN THE CROWD IS WRONG

Other scavengers work the same floor you do. One of them may never pick anything up, and never make a footstep. Skinwalkers only reveal themselves at two tiles. By then you are already close.

▸ THE HALLS KEEP GOING DOWN

Level 0 is yellow wallpaper and buzzing lights. Below it: flooded basements you have to wade, pipe mazes patrolled by something that never enters a room, blackout sectors where a glowstick is both your light and your beacon, mirror wings where half the loot is a forgery, and a library where running teleports it to you. Every fifth floor is a Boss with its own trick — a Reaper that speeds up as your bag fills, a Manager that circles ahead and waits, a Door that summons. Every floor rewrites one rule, ten mastery stars each, hundreds of stars in total — and the halls keep getting deeper with every update.
