What is actensio?

As a digital blood pressure coach, actensio provides motivating and interactive support in implementing a healthy lifestyle and can thus be proven to effectively reduce blood pressure. actensio can also be used in addition to drug therapy. Users receive concrete, everyday instructions for a healthier diet, more exercise and improved handling of stressful situations in everyday life.

How does actensio work?

Developed by experts on a behavioral medicine basis, actensio offers 31 modules in the areas of nutrition, stress management and exercise, through which the digital blood pressure coach Albert interactively accompanies users. Including:

- Technically sound and clear knowledge of high blood pressure

- Concrete, everyday instructions that are tailored to your state of health

- Individual blood pressure diary

- Extensive collection of recipes for a healthy diet (DASH concept)

- Motivation for more exercise in everyday life

- Improved stress management through mindfulness exercises and meditation

Activity and fitness

A simple connection of fitness trackers is possible in order to automatically transfer physical activity data to the diary. Alternatively, this information can also be recorded manually. The individual movement profile created on this basis offers a visual evaluation of physical activity in the areas of leisure, transportation and work.

Nutrition and weight control

Based on the entries in the digital diary, actensio creates a visual evaluation of the intake of certain food groups and calculates the individual DASH score. A large collection of recipes offers users easy-to-implement suggestions for a blood pressure-healthy diet. actensio can support users with nutrition and weight control.

Stress management, relaxation, mental performance

In special modules on stress and mindfulness, the individual stress level is evaluated and provides information about how much worry, lack of recognition and excessive demands contribute to the individual experience of stress. In order to improve relaxation and the use of mindfulness, actensio offers concrete exercises (e.g. body scan) and breathing meditations to improve stress management.

Illness and complaint management

For targeted disease management, actensio creates an individual medical report with all relevant values, which can optionally be shared with the treating doctor's office. actensio enables optimized progress monitoring during consultation hours.

Medical device apps

actensio is a CE-compliant Class 1 medical device according to the Medical Device Directive (MDD). Due to its proven effectiveness, the medical blood pressure app actensio is approved as a digital health application (DiGA).

How do I get actensio and how much does it cost?

If there is a medical or psychotherapeutic prescription (prescription) or a confirmed hypertension diagnosis, all statutory and most private health insurance companies cover 100% of the costs for actensio.

Please note:

The program does not replace the medical evaluation of the individual patient and the adaptation of diagnostics and therapy to their specific situation. The application can be used both as an adjunct to drug treatment and on its own as an intervention for high blood pressure. In any case, you must consult your treating doctor before starting the program.
