The Renault group is working with Nissan, with Nissan working with the Dacia brand for Dusters four-wheel-drive system. As a Renault Group brand, Dacia uses bright sources and proven technologies to ensure its cars are solid, rugged, and accessible. It is Renault's low-cost brand, meaning that many parts (including engines) are shared with Renault models, and Duster is built on the same platform as the previous-generation Captur. The Dacia Duster is sexier and pricier than it was, further improved with the introduction of the facelift. Up front, Dacia's biggest-selling Duster gets new headlights and a more pronounced, 3-D-styled chrome radiator grille, while the revised bumpers lead to slightly better aerodynamic performance. The Duster was one of the few smaller SUVs available at the time--the Nissan Juke was coming in--but it was unwaveringly sticking with the brute-force approach to looks and cabin layout. The Dacia Duster is fueled front-wheel-drive by default, with a choice of a diesel 1.5L or 150hp 1.3L unit available as a four-wheel-drive setup. You can only purchase the diesel four-wheel-drive in the Comfort or Prestige trims, meaning that you would need to fork out nearly PS20,000 for the four-wheel-drive Duster. The diesel option, rated at 115bhp, is what you will want if you need a Duster for off-roading: as standard, it is front-wheel-drive, but adding an extra PS2,300 makes it 4x4.

The Dusters four-wheel drive has an independent rear suspension, described by Dacia as pseudo-McPherson, with independent rear suspension taking some of the space away from the boot but providing necessary movement for the rear wheels. Being the base model, Dacias Duster does not come with a lot of the pre-emptive safety systems that we have come to assume are standard on new cars these days, like lane-assistance features and automatic emergency braking.
